Domaine de la Roche: A Story of Friendship, Passion, and Terroir

Founded in 2019 by Mathieu and Charles, Domaine de la Roche is the result of a friendship born between France and Germany — a bond between a passion for wine and a deep love of terroir. As heirs to a winemaking legacy spanning five generations, they carry forward the spirit of the Beaujolais region through vibrant, authentic wines.

 

An Exceptional Vineyard in the Heart of Beaujolais

Perched on the hillsides above Lantignié, Domaine de la Roche spans 7.5 hectares in AOC Beaujolais-Villages and half a hectare in Cru Régnié. This historic vineyard — planted over a century ago by the Collonge family — is rooted in a mosaic of pink granite and bluestone soils, offering a remarkable terroir.

Driven by respect for nature, Mathieu and Charles have begun converting the estate to organic farming, with the aim of preserving the land’s natural balance. Each action in the vineyard is guided by care and intention: no chemical inputs, careful monitoring of ripeness, and hand harvesting at the perfect moment. This respectful, reciprocal relationship with the land produces wines that are expressive, sincere, and full of life.
