Château Sigalas Rabaud

Discover this magnificent Sauternes Grand Cru. The history of the Château begins in the 17th century when Councillor Rabaud created a 60 hectare vineyard on the banks of the Ciron. The château was elevated to the rank of 1er cru in 1855 during the famous classification by Napoleon III. The château was then called Château Rabaud. Henri de Sigalas bought the estate in 1863 to straighten out the business. Pierre Gaston de Sigalas sold Château Rabaud but kept part of it to produce a wine called Le Bijou de Sigalas. He added the name Rabaud to it to create Château Sigalas-Rabaud.

In 1951, Marie-Antoinette de Sigalas and her husband, the Marquis De Lambert des Granges, revived the château and relaunched the brand by building a new cellar. At this time, the Château regained its rightful position.

In 1984, the son of the Marquis, Gérard De Lambert des Granges, took over the reins of the estate and modernised its operations. In 1998, the second wine: the Lieutenant of Sigalas was created.

Today, the property is managed by Laure De Lambert Compeyrot, who continues to bring their family history to life through great wines, each with a well-defined personality.  In 2016, the Château obtained the High Environmental Value Certification. The De Lambert family also offers you the opportunity to extend the experience of Château life by booking a night in the family chartreuse.
