Château de Cérons

Bordeaux - Graves

About

Cérons, a village, a river, an appellation and a wine château. In the heart of the village of Cérons in the Graves and Sauternais region, surrounded by large stone walls, the Château de Cérons faces the ravishing 12th century church along the Garonne River.

The Château de Cérons is a wine-growing Charterhouse built at the end of the 17th century. It was occupied throughout the 18th century by the illustrious family of the Marquis de Calvimont, who made it a holiday residence and a renowned wine estate whose wines were ranked among the very best in the region.

Xavier's parents, Suzanne and Jean Perromat, bought the Château de Cérons in 1958. They both come from a long line of winegrowers and doctors who have been established in the Graves and Entre-Deux-Mers region for 9 generations.

To discover Cérons is to plunge into the heart of the most confidential appellation of the Bordeaux region. Created in 1936, it was one of the very first appellations to be decreed in Bordeaux, along with Barsac and Sauternes.
