Our 25 suggestions for summer activities in France's vineyards

What if summer was a time to slow down, pedal between the rows of vines, dance to the sound of an open-air concert, or enjoy a local wine with your feet up in the grass? All over France, wineries are coming alive and opening their doors to the curious. Here's our selection of 25 things to do this summer in the vineyards, to combine nature, culture and pleasure.

A vibrant summer in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards

When the fine weather arrives, the châteaux of the Bordeaux vineyards open their gardens, paths and terraces to offer a season of encounters, tastings and discoveries... in the heart of nature.

  • The afterworks at Château Montlabert, a stone's throw from Saint-Émilion, invite you to enjoy a drink in a warm and musical atmosphere, every first Thursday of the month from June to August (5 June, 3 July, 7 August, 4 September) from 6pm to 9pm - Admission: free, pay-as-you-go. A joyful interlude in an elegant, leafy setting.
  • The “Kids Club” at Château Mauvinon in Saint-Émilion offers fun and creative activities for children (ages 3–14) every Friday evening this summer, while parents relax and enjoy an organic wine tasting in a charming countryside setting.
  • All summer long, Guiraud à Bicyclette offers you the chance to explore 5 km of eco-friendly trails in the heart of the Sauternes area. Enjoy it at your own pace, between vineyards, biodiversity and a gourmet break in one of their restaurants.
  • Between two emblematic châteaux, let us guide you on a rural itinerary between Château Réaut and Château Vieille Tour. Enjoy breathtaking views, unspoilt countryside and wine tasting.
  • Fancy a festive evening? Head to the Guinguette du Tuquet in Illats, for dancing, dining on the grass or listening to a concert every Friday and Saturday from 21 June to 31 August. A cheerful, rural atmosphere, with your feet up in the greenery.
  • The Cité du Vin invites you to join us every Thursday evening from June to August for a series of unusual after-work sessions, featuring food and wine pairings, mixology and tastings from around the world... a veritable voyage around the glass.
  •  And for a truly local experience, don't miss the Fête du Vin et de la Gastronomie in Lesparre-Médoc, from 25 to 27 July: local flavours, a village atmosphere and a great spirit of conviviality.

A sunny summer in the heart of Provence's vineyards

In Provence, summer can be enjoyed on the terrace, with its jazz music, feet in the grass and breathtaking views.

  • Les Musicales dans les Vignes is stopping off at Château La Mascaronne in the Var for a unique jazz evening with saxophonist Michel Pellegrino on 17 July 2025. A hushed atmosphere, rosé in hand and the sun setting.
  • Every Thursday evening in July and August, Domaine La Cadenière in the Luberon welcomes you to its terrace for a festive evening of wine, food trucks, music and conviviality.
  • If you want to have fun while you're learning, take a wine tour at Domaine La Navicelle in the Var, which is open all summer by prior arrangement. An original way to understand the work of a winegrower.
  • For those with a sweet tooth, head for Domaine La Font des Pères: have lunch at the estate restaurant, then stroll through the vineyards in complete freedom, or come and enjoy a moment of relaxation at the spa.

A sparkling summer in Champagne

Here, bubbles are enjoyed in the fresh air, with games, sensory discoveries and lively evenings.

  • At Champagne Météyer, take part in the Grand Jeu de l'Été: a life-size investigation in the vineyards, combining riddles, heritage and tasting. Available from 1 July to 31 August. You can also take a break for a walk or a wine-tasting session.
  • For a more intimate approach, discover Piot Sevillano's sensory tour, enriched by the Bulle Verte experience, available all summer by reservation.

A summer of Cognac in the Charente

Along the Charente, expertise comes to life, with wood, eaux-de-vie, local specialities and sensory experiences.

  • Take the opportunity to visit a traditional cooperage and discover how Cognac comes to life in wood. The art of toasting, the choice of wood species, subtle blends... these tours, offered throughout the summer in the Cognac region, reveal the secrets of an ancestral know-how.
  • For the more curious, push open the doors of Hennessy, the emblematic Cognac house, for a guided tour combining tradition and innovation. From barrels to contemporary works of art, Hennessy offers a multi-sensory plunge into the world of Cognac.
  • As for flavours, let yourself be tempted by a gourmet stroll around the specialities of the Charente: galettes, stuffed pastries, melon, pineau... to be discovered at local markets or producers' shops throughout the summer.
  • If you're keen on art and visual delights, don't miss the immersive exhibition at Maison Rémy Martin, where contemporary art, local culture and spirits come together for an experience as unique as it is refined.
  • And to round things off on a high note, there's the Fête du Cognac, from 25 to 27 July in Cognac: open-air concerts, cocktail bars, street food, meetings with winemakers... in a festive, summery atmosphere on the banks of the river.

Strolls and encounters in the Beaujolais

Between rounded hills, small golden stone villages and vineyards as far as the eye can see, the Beaujolais is an invitation to slow down. Here, nature is enjoyed as much as the wine, and every encounter tells a story.

  • At Domaine de la Perrière, the experience begins with a bucolic stroll through vineyards, woods and heritage. At your own pace, you'll pass through a gentle, lively landscape, punctuated by anecdotes and explanations of the winegrower's work. The walk ends in style with a guided tasting of the estate's vintages, in a warm and authentic setting.
  • For a gentle, contemplative break, head to Domaine de la Roche. Here, a signposted Sentier Bulle Verte (Green Bubble Trail) guides you through the vines on your own, with interactive stages and educational panels to help you better understand the specific features of the terroir and the winemaker's techniques. Open every day from June to October, it's the ideal way to discover the vineyards with family and friends, at your own pace.
  • And for those who want to go even further, there's the Domaine Frédéric Berne. This committed winegrower cultivates his vines using organic and agro-ecological methods. During the visit, he will share his vision of the land, his passion for indigenous grape varieties and his commitment to sustainable viticulture. It's an unforgettable, humane and deeply inspiring experience, and one that will be on offer all summer long.

This summer, France's vineyards will be buzzing with encounters, discoveries and shared moments. Whether you're curious, epicurean or dreaming, let yourself be carried away by the richness of the terroirs and the warmth of the estates.
