About
Discover Château Mauvesin Barton, a charming wine estate in the heart of the Médoc, where family tradition and a passion for wine come together. An authentic haven inviting you to enjoy the Bordeaux art of living.
At the heart of a verdant setting, just a few kilometers from Bordeaux, Château Mauvesin Barton opens its doors to a world where heritage and elegance meet. This exceptional estate combines the timeless charm of a Louis XIII–style château with the gentle art of life in the Médoc. Founded in 1457 and reimagined in 1853 by the last Marquis Le Blanc de Mauvesin, the château is distinguished by its pavilions, turrets, and formal garden adorned with ponds and conifers.
Spanning 220 hectares, including nearly 50 hectares of vineyards, the property is also a true natural haven.
Under the guidance of Lilian Barton Sartorius, who acquired the estate in 2011, and her children Mélanie – the first winemaker in the family – and Damien, Château Mauvesin Barton continues a family tradition of excellence.
Soon, a Bulle Verte walking trail will allow visitors to stroll through the park and vineyards, while discovering the estate’s history and values, all within a peaceful and enchanting setting.
